Truth or Consequences

Truth or Consequences, New Mexico is near the Elephant Butte State park, it has the largest lake in New Mexico.  Truth or Consequences used to be called Hot Springs. So there are several hot springs spas in town. We chose to go to River’s Bend Spa on the Rio Grand. It was a marvelous day; sunny blue skies, no wind, ducks, birds,  flying fish and on the river in a pool of perfect 102 degree temperature. I have never been so relaxed in my entire life. I held George up in the water first moving him around in a circling motion. The he did the same for me. George described the feeling best by saying, “It’s almost sensory deprivation!” Worth a visit.

  1. So glad I found your blog. I am thinking of selling my house and hitting the road. Sounds like you have found some great places to visit without paying $40 or $50 a night. Do you spend a lot of time and money making reservations for over night stays or do you play it by ear?

    1. We spend some time making reservations or searching online for sites. We tend to play it by ear a bit in terms of how long we stay somewhere. and FreeCampSites.Net are great tools for us.

  2. I was so excited to find your blog and I love the name of your website name . A friend and I are considering selling everything we own and hitting the road. We have Harleys so we will need a toy hauler. We are trying to decide which motorhome will be best for us. We are looking at class A with a garage. But$$$$ Anyway appreciate you guys and your willness to share your experience. I will be looking forward to your updates.

    1. I see lots of fifth wheel toy haulers some of which are used but reasonably priced. seems like a good place to find what you need if you haven’t used it already. One other option would be to trailer your bikes behind a class A, but then you couldn’t tow a car if wanted 4 wheel transport along with the Harley’s.

Regardless of your final choice, I hope you hit the road! It’s certainly an adventure!
